Latium is not only Rome! You can know it very well
if you go to Viterbo,Tarquinia or Tivoli.
If you like a team activity like Wine Tasting for medium size groups you can consider Frascati (fantastic white wine).
Viterbo is a walled town  80 Km north of Rome.  It was fortified in 773 by the Lombard King Desiderius as Castrum Viterbii and from 1145  the popes, having difficulties asserting their authority over Rome, made Viterbo as  their favourite residence.
Tarquinia, is one of the ancient Etruscan city 90 Km from Rome and 20 from Civitavecchia cruise port.  The main necropolis of Tarquinia, is the Monterozzi necropolis with some 6,000 tombs with beautiful wall paintings.
Tivoli is 30 Km from Rome at the falls of the Aniene river where it issues from the Sabine hills.
The city acquired Roman citizenship in 90 BC and became a resort area famed for its beauty and its good water, and was enriched by many Roman villas as Villa Adriana.
